The Cerium starts with down composite mapping, which strategically places down and synthetic insulation in key areas. As down only provides warmth if it's lofty and dry, synthetic insulation is placed in areas that are more prone to moisture, such as the cuffs and shoulders, for maximum warmth. The baffle construction also helps in heat retention. Designed in a linear pleated baffle structure that creates volume and maximizes the down loft toward the body, the baffles are reducing negative air space, essentially erasing cold spots that can be common in quilted down jackets.
