Shrink-wrappedDescription
For many years, the Bremen guitarist, composer and producer ROLF KIRSCHBAUM has taken a special position in the German music scene. With his band THE PACHINKO FAKE he was always ahead of the times. Already the first maxi Who's The Fool recorded at the end of the eighties with the Japanese fusion musician Haruo Togashi made the experts sit up and take notice. This was followed by three albums at Strange Ways Records, the critics loved them all!. With the single Push Me Before I fall, which was accompanied by a lavish video clip, then finally the commercial success should be adjusted. But the bankruptcy of the distributer in 1991 stopped the final breakthrough. Rolf Kirschbaum took it easy. In the meantime he had already established himself as a musician and producer of acts like FEHLFARBEN, JOACHIM WITT, RUMBLE ON THE BEACH, THE ELECTRIC FAMILY and many others. The HOLMES BROTHERS were asking for his services, TISH HINOJOSA and ERIC BIBB, too, and TAJ MAHAL even let him fly to Africa in the studio, he did not want to give up his regulator skills and his exact ear. Between all these jobs and his work as a theatre composer, Rolf Kirschbaum returned again and again to his project THE PACHINKO FAKE. Rare appearance basically left an always enthusiastic audience. Unreleased recordings have been released by Sireena Records in 2002 on the CD Claustrophobia And Other Joys, which also aroused a pleasing echo. Then in 2007 a new studio album: A Hundred Ways To Kill Your Love (Tribal Stomp / Cargo), where the multi-instrumentalist played together with exceptional drummer Achim Frber (Project Pitchfork, Philipp Boa, Die Krupps), an impressive comeback! 10 years later, it was just time to present a compilation of Rolf Kirschbaum and his iconic formation - a cross-section of her work from 1987 - 2007.7.
